You never, ever want to get this close to an engine that is running, even at idle power. This photo looks like that, but it's not- because it's a night shot, anything that moves is blurred so the fan blades are moving, but very slowly, giving the impression that they are turning much faster (airplane was parked overnight and those blades just spin when some wind goes through them)
